Ezra Phillip Revis' Obituary
Ezra Phillip “Phil” Revis, 77, of Decatur, IL passed away January 12, 2020 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Phil was born June 28, 1942 in Decatur, IL, the son of Ezra S. and Lucille B. (Oswald) Revis. He married Ruth A. Johnson on May 20, 1962.
Phil retired from Firestone, where he served in many facets of tire building, finishing as a setup man. Following his retirement, he served as a handyman for J. J. Schwartz. He served as Highway Commissioner for Blue Mound Township for 12 years.
Phil was affiliated with 2nd Church of God. He loved spending time with his children, grandkids and great grandkids. He loved working with his hands and especially enjoyed woodworking and gardening. He enjoyed watching hummingbirds and spending time with his beloved cat, “Punkin”.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth; children, Phillip Randel Revis (Cindy) of Attica, IN, Lisa Ann Revis of Decatur, IL; brother Michael Earl Revis (Linda) of Decatur, IL; sister, Kathleen A. Thompson (Jesse) of Decatur, IL; grandchildren, Amanda Kay Powell, Kasandra Lyn Davenport, Jessica M. Olson; and seven great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Jim Revis and sister, Lily Koprek.
A Celebration of Life will be held at noon, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 2nd Church of God. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM – noon, Thursday at the church.
Memorials: 2nd Church of God and St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
