Faye McCario's Obituary
Decatur-Faye McCario, 93, of Petersburg formerly of Decatur passed away at 10:15 am Monday in Sunny Acres Nursing Home in Petersburg.
Faye was born on February 1, 1918 in Ramsey, IL the daughter of G.C. and Martha (Shockey) Watkins. She worked for many years as a waitress at the Country Cupboard Restaurant in Decatur.
Surviving are her sons, Norman 'Mick' Higgerson of Jacksonville; Richard Higgerson of Arizona; daughters, Carole Shelton of California; Lenniye Freeman and special son-in-law, Geno of Springfield; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Albert Freeman and Barney McCario; and one brother.
Honoring Faye's wishes cremation will take place at Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Sunny Acres Nursing Home or the Animal Protective League.
