Fern Baney's Obituary
Decatur-Fern O. Baney, 87, of Decatur passed away Wednesday, February 2, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center in Decatur, Illinois.
A private family service to celebrate the life of Fern will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment with “Flight Home” ceremony will be at the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Fern was born April 16, 1923 in Salem, Illinois the daughter of Scott and Myrtle Ray. She was a member of the Decatur Boat Club for over 20 Years. Fern was a loving mother and a wonderful wife. She married William Baney December 6, 1960.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, husband of over 50 years; William Baney, sons; Allen Young of Forsyth, and Ronald Young and wife Gwynne of Mt. Zion, daughter; Judy Yaegel of Decatur, step-son; John Baney and wife Bev, brothers; George Ray, and Carl Ray, sister Mary Lou, 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
She greeted into Heaven by her parents, brothers; Virgil and Howard, and sister Cora.
