Fleeta P. Campbell's Obituary
Decatur-Fleeta (McLemore) Campbell, 96, of Decatur, passed away 10:00 am Saturday, November 20, 2010 in her residence surrounded by her family.
Services to celebrate Fleeta's life will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November, 23, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor David Brown officiating. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 pm Monday, November 22, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment with the 'Flight Home' ceremony will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of the donor's choice. Online memories and condolences may be shared with Fleeta's family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Fleeta was born on December 22, 1913 in Decatur the daughter of John and Myrtle (Black) Roderick. She married Reymond A. McLemore in March of 1929. Reymond passed away in 1957 and Fleeta later married Eric Campbell on October 20, 1959 in Los Vegas, Nevada. Fleeta worked as a sales clerk for several years until her retirement in 1973. She enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, quilting, and was a most wonderful cook.
Left to cherish Fleeta's memories are her daughters Madeline Maddox of Neosho, MO; Sharron (husband Bob) Mansur of Decatur, IL; Lisa (husband John) Kelley of Neosho, MO and Madonna Swisher of Urbana, IL; fifteen grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and eighteen great-great-grandchildren.
Fleeta was reunited in heaven with her parents, her husbands Reymond A. McLemore and Eric Campbell; her daughters Evelyn Johnson and Fleeta Loraine McLemore; her son Michael McLemore; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five brothers and two sisters.
