Florence Mae Crawford's Obituary
Decatur-Florence Mae Crawford, 85, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
She was born May 2, 1927 in Walker, Illinois, the daughter of Other and Nellie (Miller) Summerlott. She was previously employed with Borg-Warner from 1967-1981, along with her husband she owned/operated Bet'r Dry Cleaners, the Herald & Review, and she was a bookkeeper for Ray Sobatka up until the age of eighty-one. She was a member of the Beaumanoir Commandery Ladies Auxiliary. She was an avid Chicago Bulls and St. Louis Cardinals fan. She married Eddie Crawford October 28, 1945. They shared over sixty-seven years together.
She leaves behind her husband Eddie, children Stephen and wife Janice of Oswego, Debbie Trent and husband Bob of Decatur, and Teena Shugart and husband Jeff of Decatur, grandchildren John Crawford of Chesapeake, Virginia, Jason Crawford of Chicago, Aaron and Ryan Buckley both of Decatur, Christopher, Matthew, and Zachary Shugart all of Decatur, great-grandchildren Luke and Hope Crawford, Trent and Conner Buckley, and Benjamin Shugart, and sister Helen Jones of Arthur.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Other Summerlott, and sisters Jenny Bunning and Wilma Davis.
Memorial services to celebrate Florence's life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Trinity Nazarene Church, 1645 S. 44th St. Decatur. Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
