Francis Walsh's Obituary
Francis "Bud" Walsh, 89, of Taylorville, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2023 in Taylorville.
Memorial service will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Stonington, IL on Tuesday, November 28 at 11:00 am with Reverend Piotr Kosk. Bud's family will receive friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bud was born in Peoria, IL to Francis M. Walsh and Alice Munro on November 12, 1934.
He was in the retail grocery business and achieved his lifetime goal when he became the owner/operator of the Blue Mound Red Fox grocery store with his wife, Marilyn. Bud and Marilyn were married on September 8, 1956. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Columbus achieving the status of Knight of the Fourth Degree.
Bud is survived by Marilyn, his five children and their partners, Francis “Buzz” Walsh (Shawna Houser), Cherie (William) Burkhart, David (Susan) Walsh, Mark (Karyn) Walsh and Patrick (Allison) Walsh, his twelve grandchildren, Jessica Zagelow, Elizabeth Burkhart, Cara Burkhart, Rachel Walsh, Corey Walsh, Stephanie Rutherford, Amy Molina, Ethan Walsh, Alissa St. Blanc, Adam Walsh, Grayson Walsh, Alexander Walsh, and his thirteen great grandchildren, Hunter McCarty, Alexa McCarty, Logan Zagelow, Griffin Zagelow, Kaylin Zagelow, Madelyn Kates, Jocelynn Rutherford, Matthew Rutherford, Audra Rutherford, Landon Zagelow, Cooper Zagelow, Paul St. Blanc, Nora St. Blanc and Emme Burkhart.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Roofing project at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Stonington, IL or Saint Mary Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL.
