Franklin I. Aubert's Obituary
Franklin I. Aubert, 70, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in his home with his family by his side.
Franklin was born July 2, 1943 in Decatur, IL, the son of William L. and Hazel (Gereau) Aubert. He was well known for playing practical jokes on his nieces and nephews. He helped start Never Forgotten Thymes in Decatur, and enjoyed hanging out there whenever he could. He also loved traveling and antiquing in his spare time.
Franklin leaves behind his brothers, Don (Marlene) Aubert of Decatur; Ron (Betty) Aubert of Dalton City; Les (Patty) Aubert of Mt. Zion; Clive Aubert of Springfield; sisters, Beverly (Bill) Lollie of Weatherford, TX; Billie Clifton of Decatur; Linda Cummins of Decatur; and many, many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Larry Aubert; sister-in-law, Anita Aubert; brother-in-law Bob Clifton; brother-in-law, Dave Cummins; nephew Phillip Aubert; and life partner John Deister.
Memorial services to celebrate Franklin’s life will be 1 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Trinity Church of the Nazarene. Memorials in memory of Franklin may be made to the Cancer Care Specialists of Decatur or to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, Maryland 20814.
The family would like to give special thanks to Franklin’s special friends Dottie and Robin, the staff at Harbor Lights Hospice, the staff at Cancer Care Center of Decatur, and to all the many friends, neighbors and employees at Wellington Way for their care and support.
