Fred W. Dworak's Obituary
Lovington – Fred W. Dworak, 99, of Lovington, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Fred was born October 9, 1915 in Decatur, IL, the son of August and Anna (Galla) Dworak. He proudly served his country in the United States Army in WWII. He was a combat veteran who was a part of the Guadalcanal and Philippine Campaigns. Fred is a retired coal miner and a member of VFW Post 99. His hobby was landscaping. He loved working in his yard. Fred also enjoyed spending time with his family. He would play ball, ride bikes, or go sledding with his grandsons. Fred married Hyla Brosam in October of 1948. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2007.
Fred leaves behind his daughter, Vickie (Joseph) Hennigan of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Edwin (Kelly) Ray, Richard Joseph (Lynn) Ray, and Sean (Kendra) Hennigan; and great-grandchild, Lily.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Services to celebrate Fred’s life will be 12 p.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Cook Mills, IL.
