Freda Conyers' Obituary
Decatur – Freda Sue Conyers, 77, of Decatur passed away on Monday, January 20, 2014 in her home with her family by her side.
Freda was born August 23, 1936 in Decatur, the daughter of Charlie Earl and Lucille Braden. A homemaker, Freda was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and Beta Sigma Phi. She married Marvin “Bud” Conyers on February 14, 1970 in Decatur.
Surviving is her husband, Bud of Decatur; sons: Doug (Linda) Kroll of AZ and Craig Kroll of Decatur; daughter, Cindy (David) Doty of Mt. Zion; stepdaughters: Theresa (Bart) Conyers- Galloway of TN and Sandi (Timothy) Harrington of Winthrop Harbor, IL. Grandchildren: Shawn Howell, Jason (Jenifer) Wrigley, Tyler Kroll, Amber (Kelson) Chabak, Bailee Conyers Galloway, and Nicole Harrington; great grandchildren: Gracie Howell, Drew and Connor Wrigley, and Kenleigh Chabak. Brother, Earl Dean (Janet) Braden of OH; sister, Mary Nelson of Decatur; brothers in law, Ronald “Jimmie” Nelson of OK, and Marshel (Terri) Conyers of Decatur; sisters in law, Marilyn Braden of Decatur, Lottie Crowe of AR, and Dell Rodgers and Olean Wright of Indianapolis. Many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents; brother, Charles “Chuck” Braden; sisters: Bernice “Niece” Nelson and Esther (Cletus) Quillen; brother in law, Clifford “Cliff” Nelson; and niece, Lucinda Meixner.
Celebration of God’s Gift of Eternal Life for Freda will be 2 PM Friday, January 24, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Wray Offermann officiating. Visitation will be 12-2 PM Friday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or Cancer Research.
