Freddie William Harpool Jr.'s Obituary
Freddie William Harpool, Jr, 76, of Centralia, IL, passed away at 8:02 P.M. on Thursday (04-17-2025) at St Louis University Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
Freddie was born on January 2, 1949, in Monticello, IL, the son of Freddie William Harpool and Delores Elaine (Ridge) Harpool. He married Delanis “Dee” Oliver in Decatur, IL. She preceded him in death on October 5, 2018.
Freddie worked as a mechanic at the Solo Cup Factory making sure that all of the machines stayed up and running. He also did construction work and roofing when he was younger. Freddie enjoyed watching NASCAR and was a Chicago Bears Football fan. What he loved to do the most though was going fishing.
He is survived by his children: William Joseph Harpool and wife Jennifer of Centralia, IL; Philip Wayne Harpool of Ina, IL; Johnny Lee Harpool of Decatur, IL; Sonya Kay Nagy and husband Raymond of Centralia, IL; Tonya Sue Marsh and husband Matthew of Centralia, IL; six stepchildren; twenty plus grandchildren; ten plus great-grandchildren; one brother Mike Telfer of Decatur, IL; and one sister Sandy Bean of Decatur, IL.
Freddie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Dee, one brother Denny Telfer and one sister Stephanie Harpool.
There will be a Memorial Service at 12:00 P.M. Saturday (04-26-2025) at the Shelbyville Dam in Shelbyville, IL.
