Gail Elaine Tendick's Obituary
Gail Tendick, 64 of Decatur, passed from this life on November 4, 2018 at Hickory Point Christian Village, Forsyth, IL. Gail was fully healed, fully restored, no longer suffering and was welcomed into heaven by her mother and father, son Mark, Aunt Laura, as well as other precious and dear family members.
Gail was born November 5, 1953 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield, IL to Paul and Virginia (Taylor) Tendick. Gail graduated from New Berlin High School in 1972 and attended Lincoln Land Community College. She was employed as an office associate for the Illinois Education Association for 31 years, and took pride in her ability to connect with members and friends of the Association throughout her tenure.
Surviving are daughter Sara of Decatur, sisters Marcia (Ted) Johnson, of West Chester, PA, Paula (Scott) Thoburn, of Bend, OR, brothers David (Janet) Tendick of Philo, IL and Dean (Edie) Tendick of Winimac, IN, nieces Kara and Jennifer, nephews Eric, Kyle, and Travis, as well as best friends Deb Furkin of New Berlin, and Shelby King of Decatur.
Visitation service for Gail will be held on November 16, 2018 from 5:30p-7:30pm at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave, Decatur, IL. Funeral will be held at 9am on November 17, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 2727 N Union, Decatur, IL, with burial to follow at Mt. Pulaski Cemetery.
Memorials in Gail’s name may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church, the Lutheran School Association St. John’s Assessment, and the Northeast Community Fund.
The family of Gail Tendick would like to offer their sincere gratitude to the Cancer Care Center of Decatur, Dr. Sebastien Kairouz, and the many hands of the nurses in the Infusion Center who provided companionship, care, and comfort to Gail during her fight. The family would also like to express gratitude to the staff of Decatur Memorial Hospital 5th floor, Dr. Anderson, the staff at Hickory Point Christian Village, and the staff of Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home for their efforts to ensure Gail’s peaceful and pain-free passing, as well as the comfort provided to the family during this time.
