Gary Gene Sellers' Obituary
Gary Gene Sellers, 63, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019, in Decatur.
Gary was born October 25, 1956, in Red Bud, IL, to James Nathan and Grace Gladeen (Akers) Sellers. He proudly served and retired from the United States Navy. He worked for the United States Postal Service for 23 years. He married Frances Charlotte Cooke on February 18, 1980 in Glasgow, Scotland. He enjoyed college sports and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Frances; his two sons, J. Scott (Christie) Sellers and Marcus (Samantha) Sellers; his five grandchildren, Hailey, Isabel, Savanna, Cristian and Margaret Sellers; his four brothers, Earl (Carla) Sellers, Ray (Diane) Sellers, Gene Sellers and Larry Sellers; his five sisters, Ina Guethle, Joann (Dick) Hoffman, Linda (Rich) Freeman, Darla (David) Schanuel and Rhonda Sellers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fred Sellers and his sister, Ula Dickson.
Visitation services to celebrate the life of Gary Sellers will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday, November 11, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will be in Camp Butler in Springfield. Memorials may be directed to the family to be designated later.
