Gary Dean Stinson's Obituary
Gary Dean Stinson, 53, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gary was born August 14, 1961 in Decatur to Ronald Dean and Jacqueline Kaye (Diebert) Stinson. He was a welder for Union Iron Works for many years.
He was the best dad in the world for his son, Trevor. He and his son restored a 1968 Chevy truck together which meant the world to him. He loved the Denver Broncos and he was a dedicated Harley man. But his true love was his fiance, Tammy. His family and friends were so important to his everyday life.
He is survived by his parents, Ronald(Judy) Stinson and Jacqueline Knox; his fiance, Tammy Brackett; one son, Trevor Dean Stinson of Decatur; step-son, Wesley Pundt of San Diego, CA; step-fathers, Charles Rossi of Henderson, CO and Lynn Knox of Olmsted, IL; two brothers, Terry Stinson of Pekin and Stacey Stinson of Decatur; four sisters, Shelli Stinson of Springfield, Kelli Stinson of West Covina, CA, Nicol (Michael) Moore and Teresa (Michael) Carr both of Springfield; one foster brother, Tim Nichols of Decatur and one foster sister, Cindy McAllister of Holland, MI; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews; three brother-in-laws and four sister-in-laws.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and one brother, Charles Dale Rossi.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Gary will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 8, 2014with the Rev. Robert W. White, officiating, at Graceland/ Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Gary requested that his friends and family dress casual for his services.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Gary’s aunt and uncle, Bill and Margaret Mollohan.
