Gary Bernard Wisler's Obituary
Gary Bernard Wisler, born on August 23, 1940, in Roaring Spring, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 31st, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was a proud graduate of Penn State University and a devoted supporter of his beloved Nittany Lions.
He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Japan, where he had the incredible experience of climbing Mount Fuji.
Gary’s career began with Lehigh Cement Company, taking him to New York and Beloit, Wisconsin, before he eventually settled in Decatur, where he raised his family.
In his early days, Gary enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing golf. He also took great pride in his classic 1957 Chevy, never missing an opportunity to show it off.
On April 10, 1965, he married the love of his life, Barbara Adams, and together they built a beautiful family. Gary is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, and their four sons: Gary (Nadine), Tim (DeeAnne), Gregg (Shea), and Doug (Leslie). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Noah (Alanna), Hannah (Bryer) Lehr, Jared (Alex), Emily, Sophie, David (Blaire), Gabriel, Mark, and Levi, and a great-grandfather to Miles Wisler. He is also survived by his sister, Deb (Darl) Dick and his niece, Jessica.
He was preceded in death by his parents, S. Bernard and Alice Wisler, his sister Donna Kay and his niece Pamela Sue.
Gary will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kindness, and his passion for sports.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 7th at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Decatur at 10:00 AM with Funeral Services immediately following at 11:00 AM. The burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church.
