Gay A. Rolofson's Obituary
Gay A Rolofson, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, in Decatur, IL. Born on June 25, 1953, the son of Glenn Kenneth “GK” and Bonnie Adair (Marlatt) Rolofson.
Gay was a selfless and caring man who went out of his way to help others whenever he could. Everyone who knew him, knew how friendly and kind he was. He and his wife of 42 years, Janet (Luka) Rolofson enjoyed spending time with each other and their children, as well as their grandchildren and great grandchild. In his earlier years he enjoyed racing sprint cars and working at the family Skelly filling station and automotive repair shop in Argenta, IL with his brother Gary and Father GK. He was a foreman at Green Valley Metal Works for many years and spent his retirement working for Maranatha Church and Menards.
Gay is survived by his wife Janet, son Brian Hedges and his wife Tara, his brother Gary and his wife Karen, brother in-law Warren White, nephews Gary Lee Rolofson and Jeff White, nieces Jody, Sherry, Amy, Elaine, grandchildren Hannah, Abigail, Joshua, David, and great grandchild Lucy Grace.
Gay was proceeded in death by his father GK, mother Bonnie, sisters Nancy and Joy, and brother Lyle.
Visitation is at Maranatha Assembly of God in Decatur, IL on Monday, January 12, 2026, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The funeral is at 12:00pm with graveside services following at Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
