Gearldine “Gearl” Jones, age 68, of Urbana, IL., departed this life on January 25, 2026, at her residence.
Gearl was born on August 12, 1957, in Haywood County, Tennessee, to the late Thomas Lee and Mollie Lou Watkins Jones.
Gearldine was loved and respected by all who knew her and will be long remembered for her warm smile and generous heart. She enjoyed online shopping, watching her favorite shows, and was the life of any gathering—always laughing and keeping others laughing right along with her. Above all, she treasured time spent with her beloved dog, Gideon.
Gearl leaves to cherish her memory her brothers, Thurmon (Diane) Jones and Jerry Jones; her sisters, Martha Jones, Karen (Ron) Jones, and Marlene Jones; a host of beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, her last living uncle, and friends; her special friend Lisa Newbern; her lifelong friend Bernice Farmer, and Vidilia, her first friend to welcome her when she moved to Urbana.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents; her brother, Kelvin Jones; her sister-in-law Johnnie Ruth Jones, special friend, T.C. Tolliver; and her precious dog, Gideon.
