George W. Austin's Obituary
George William Austin, 71, of Decatur, IL died February 21, 2018 at Decatur Memorial Hospital in Decatur.
George was born September 4, 1946 in St. Louis, MO, the son of George Washington and Verna (Clifton) Austin. He worked for Tate and Lyle for many years and was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
George was a movie buff and loved watching movies and reciting movie trivia. He was also a drummer and loved classic rock music, especially the rolling Stones and Foghat.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory his daughter Alexis Austin of Decatur; step daughter, Jennifer Sorensen (Bill) of Kansas City, MO; sister, Carol Gerent (Rudy) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Elsa Marie Garner and Emma Rose Garner; one niece and three nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 26, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral services at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery.
