George P Baine's Obituary
Decatur-George P. Baine, Sr., 89 of Decatur, went to be with the Lord 8:45 pm Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services to celebrate George's life will be held 11:30am Monday, September 20, 2010 at Macon County Memorial Park with Major Robert Gauthier officiating. Visitation will be from 10 ' 11:00 am Monday at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Military rites will be provided by the Macon County Honor Guard and services will conclude with the 'Flight Home' ceremony. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army. George was born on May 24, 1921 in Bensonville, IL the son of George and Emma (Kroening) Baine. He was a high school graduate and later completed three years of college. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force. George married Charlotte Rosser on December 26, 1947 in Tucson, AZ. George was employed as a custodian for several years with the Decatur Public School System. He also served on the D.A.V. for over 40 years.
Surviving are his wife Charlotte of 63 years, his sons Raymond (wife Lolly) Baine of Wausau, WI and Phil (wife DeeDee) of Decatur; his daughters Emma R. Baine and boyfriend David Daker of Decatur and Janet (husband Bill) Kleidon of Lansing, MI; his sisters Pat Stewart of Carol Stream, IL and Phyllis Serritella of Addison, IL; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
George was greeted in heaven by his parents.
