George James Park's Obituary
George James Park, 69, of Decatur, IL, passed away peacefully, 7:45 PM, August 23, 2018 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
George was born October 27, 1948, in Decatur, IL, the son of Andrew R. and Lena (Conroy) Park Jr. He married Linda Unland on April 6, 2002 in Decatur, IL.
George was a successful salesman, serving Applebaum’s of Decatur and then Bob Ridings, where he retired.
Surviving are his wife, Linda of Decatur, IL; sons, James P. Park (Audrey) of Wylie, TX, Bryan L. Park (Sung Yim) of Chicago, IL, Michael J. Unland (Amie) of Decatur, IL; daughter, Amy U. Rizzo (Daniel) of Forsyth, IL; sister, Florence Catherine Hovis (James) of Dekalb, IL; grandchildren, Tyler Rizzo, Evan Rizzo, Dani Rizzo, Chad Unland and Carter Unland.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and three brothers, Andrew, Lawrence and Bruce Park.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held, 10:00 AM, Friday, August 31, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM, Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials have been suggested to be given to Our Lady of Lourdes.
