George Thomas Summers' Obituary
George Thomas Summers, 82, of Clinton, passed away Sunday, November 09, 2014 at Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth, IL.
George was born February 26, 1932 in Clinton, IL, the son of Vernon M. and Doris Fern (Strange) Summers. George proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He retired as a crib operator from Caterpillar after 32 years of dedicated work. George was a member of Wapella Christian Church. He enjoyed baseball, football, golf, and was a huge Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. George married Lois Mae Cutright on February 2, 1952 in Kenney, IL. They shared 62 wonderful years together.
George leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Lois; son, Larry Summers of Normal, IL; and grandchild, Cameron Summers.
He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Richard and Charles Summers.
Honoring George’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service to celebrate George’s life will be held at a later date. Memorials in memory of George may be made to the Veterans Hospital in Danville, IL or to the DeWitt County Animal Shelter.
