Georgia C. Guinnee's Obituary
Decatur-Georgia C. Guinnee, 90, of Peru, IL, formerly of Decatur, IL, passed away August 1, 2014 at Heritage Health in Peru where she has been a resident since 2006.
Georgia was born February 21, 1924, in Claremont, IL, the daughter of George S. and June Nease. She married Dale Guinee July 29, 1950 in Olney, IL. He preceded her in death December 21, 2005. They resided in Decatur for most of their married life. She was a devoted housewife and mother that loved to cook and garden.
She is survived by her sons Gordon Clevy of Claremont, IL, David (Jeannie) Guinnee of Marseilles, IL, and James (Hugo Calindo) Guinnee of White Plaines, NY, daughter Susan (Steve) Diemer of Peru, IL, two granddaughters, six grandsons, eleven great-grandchildren, sister Vera Baker, brother Lawrence Nease, and many nieces and nephews.
Georgia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant daughters, three brothers, and two sisters.
A private family Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Georgia’s life will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Decatur. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Illinois Valley Hospice, 1305 Sixth St. Peru, IL, 61354, Illinois Valley Community Hospital, 925 West St, Peru, IL, 61354, or the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
