Gerald V. Coffman's Obituary
Gerald 'Jerry' V. Coffman, 63, of Decatur passed away on Friday, April 26, 2013 in his home surrounded by his family.
Gerald was born on July 24, 1949 in Bloomington the son of Virgil and Frances (Spencer) Coffman. He worked as an adjudicator for the State of Illinois and graduated from Western Illinois University in 1973.  He served his country proudly in the U S. Army Air Borne during the Vietnam War and received two Purple Hearts.  He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed target shooting, and mowing the grass at his pond in Moweaqua. He married Sharon Pauline Stone on August 6, 1987 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; sons, Casey Coffman of Decatur; Eric Howell of Decatur; daughters, Jamie Hunsicker (Kevin) of Decatur; Kim Howell of Decatur; brothers, James Coffman (Linda) of Moweaqua; Joseph Coffman (Julie) of Moweaqua; sister, Lola Steadman (Ron) of Moweaqua; 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation to celebrate Gerald's life will be will be 5-7 PM Tuesday in the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in Graceland Cemetery with Military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.
