Gerald F. "Jerry" Ryan's Obituary
Decatur – Gerald F. “Jerry” Ryan, 65, of Decatur, passed away Monday, October 19, 2020, in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Jerry was born October 26, 1954, in Taylorville, the son of Gerald Thomas and Norma Jean (Roseberry) Ryan. Jerry worked as a tire builder at Firestone for 29 years and then went to work at ADM. He loved shooting pool, boating, and watching all kinds of sports, especially high school football. Jerry was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan who spent many winters attending their spring training camps in Florida. His favorite thing to do with his time was hanging out with his 4 grandsons. He would plan “Guys day out.”
Jerry is survived by his children: Melissa (Rob) White of Downs, Luke (Kalle) Ryan of Decatur; grandchildren: Hudson, Paul, Jagger and Preston; siblings: Jack (Deborah) Ryan of Kincaid, Tom Ryan of MO, Marianne (Phil) Dodson of MO, Rick (Beth) Ryan of MO, Michael Ryan of MO, and Paul (Lisa) Ryan of MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Paislie.
Visitation will be from 1 pm until the service time at 3 pm, Saturday, October 24, 2020, at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to CDH International https://cdhawarenessshop.org/products/donate-now?variant=7034713931823
