Gladys I. Burris' Obituary
Gladys I. Burris, 86, of Decatur passed away on Tuesday July 4, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gladys was born on August 28, 1930 in Washington, IA the daughter of Lloyd J. and Mary (O’Conner) Hopping. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Castle William American Legion Post 105 Auxiliary. She was retired from Illinois Central Railroad. She married Frank Lyndon Burris on August 26, 1950 in Riverside, IA.
Surviving are her husband, sons, Russell L. Burris of Nobinger, MO; James J. Burris of Gold Cannon, AZ; Michael L. Burris (Connie) of Colorado Springs, CO; Patrick L. Burris (Amy) of Stockton, CA; daughter, Becky Stewart (William) of Decatur; sister, Marjorie Kline (David) of Cedar Rapids, IA; 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by parents and two sisters.

Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Gladys’ life will be 2 PM Tuesday, July 11, 2017 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 1-2 PM Tuesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to National Jewish Hospital in Denver, CO or the Alzheimer Association.
