Decatur-Gladys Viola Minner-Gruber, 84, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Services to celebrate Gladys' life will be 1p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2010 crypt side at the Pieta Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Entombment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be at the Pieta Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Gladys was born November 16, 1926 in Lakota, North Dakota, the daughter of Fred and Pearl (McFadden) Minner. She taught in a one room school in North Dakota before moving Decatur. She married Lloyd D. Gruber in August of 1945.
She was previously employed as a checker at Norman's Laundry & Dry Cleaners until her retirement in 1991.
She leaves behind her son; Donald Gruber and wife Debra, grandchildren; Lindsey Taylor and husband Kevin and Evan Gruber and wife Sara, and great-granddaughter; Claire Madison Taylor.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
