Glen F. Lynch's Obituary
Glen F. Lynch, 91, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2017 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Glen was born September 11, 1926 in Harristown, Illinois, the son of Myrum Glen and Doris Bell (Mullins) Lynch. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Glen was a former farmer, sanitary engineer, and president of the Macon County Landfill. He owned and operated G.F. Lynch Disposal for over 60 years with his wife Barbara. He enjoyed wildlife, fixing things, riding horses, and planting trees. Glen married Barbara Jean Crowe on October 8, 1949 in Decatur.
Glen leaves behind his children, Doris Ann (James) Swingler of Dunlap, Nicholas G. Lynch of Decatur; Breanna K. Lynch of Decatur; sister, Betty Althoff (Stan), seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and a host of extended family members and friends.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, wife Barbara, and son Franklin Mark Lynch Sr.
Services to celebrate Glen’s life will be 3 PM Saturday, September 30, 2017 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery.
