Glenn W. "Billy" Bright's Obituary
Decatur-Glenn W. “Billy” Bright, 59, of Decatur, passed away Monday, February 9, 2015 in his home with his family by his side.
Billy was born January 16, 1956 in Decatur, the son of Ben E. and Emma (Strahle) Bright. He was previously employed as a supervisor with United Contractors Midwest and a member of Operating Engineers Local #965. He loved his Harleys, NASCAR, woodworking, working outside and on vehicles, and most of all spending time with family and friends. He married Jody Grove January 13, 2007 in Pekin.
Billy leaves behind his wife Jody of Decatur, son Kelly Bright of Decatur, step-son David Oakley and wife Jill of Blue Mound, step-daughter Lindsey Heil and husband Denny of Decatur, brothers Larry Bright and wife Crystal of Decatur and Gary Lowe of Decatur, sisters Sandra Rollings and husband Charles of Ashmore, and Pamela Fluckey and husband Gerald of Ashmore, grandchildren Taylor, Tyler, Tristin, Jaiden, Emma, MaKenzie, Matthew, Connor, and Rylee, and fur babies Dusty and Pepper.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ronald Bright, and fur baby Tiny.
Services to celebrate Billy’s life will be 10 a.m. Friday, February 13, 2015 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, February 12, 2015 at the funeral home. Family requests casual attire. Billy will be taking his last motorcycle ride to Macon County Memorial Park immediately following the service. Memorials are suggested to the wishes of the family in c/o Jody Bright.
