Glenn "Ozzie" Osborne's Obituary
Glenn A. “Ozzie” Osborne, 84, of Decatur, IL, passed away in his residence on January 8th 2017.
Glenn was born in Athens, IL on December 20, 1932 to Ernest B. and Nina E. (Glenn) Osborne. He went to school in Athens. He served in the U.S. Army in Korea from March 1953 to January 1955. He married Judy Mae Williams on June 3, 1956, in Springfield. He worked at Kroger’s in Springfield and transferred to Decatur, IL with Krogers in 1962. He worked 30 years for Caterpillar in Decatur and retired in 1994. He also worked 10 years as a security guard at Richland Community College. He was a member of UAW retiree’s group and First Freewill Baptist Church in Decatur. He enjoyed going to church, driving and watching NASCAR.
Surviving is his wife, Judy; three sons, Edwin Lynn, Tracy Dean and Gary Brian; one daughter, Linda Eileen Lowe; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Edwin Ernest Osborne and one great-grandson, Skyler Dean Osborne.
In lieu of flowers, if you choose, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or First Freewill Baptist Church in Decatur.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, January 12, 2017, at First Freewill Baptist Church 2709 N 27th St, Decatur, IL 62526. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church before the service. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park in Springfield.
