Glenn Nelson Yount, Sr.'s Obituary
Glenn Nelson Yount, Sr., 80, of Decatur, died Saturday, March 10, 2012 in St. Mary's Hospital. Mr. Yount was born March 29, 1931, in Craig, MO, son of Jesse Omer and Bessie Lee (Goolsby) Yount. A Staff Sergeant in the Air Force during the Korean War, Glenn worked as an inspector for Caterpillar before retiring. He married Rose Marie Cole December 14, 1957 and she preceded him in death December 25, 2006. Surviving are his children: Glenn N. Yount, Jr., (wife, Harriet) of Phoenix, AZ; Alan Lee Yount of Decatur and Theresa “Teri” Yount of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren: Jeremy, Justin, Alex and Keely; great grandchildren: Trista, Kobe and Kale; brothers: Jay Yount of St. Joseph, MO and Sam Yount of Des Moines, IA; sisters: Colene White of Mound City, MO and Virginia Long of Craig, MO; childhood friend, Frankie Cunningham of Mound City, MO; along with several nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Mr. Yount was preceded in death by his parents; wife; grandson, Tyler and sister, Marjorie Crist. The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 17, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:30 a.m. in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery.
