Glenna Clarice Powell's Obituary
Glenna Clarice Powell, 91, of Decatur, passed away July 7, 2022 at Hickory Point Christian Village.
Glenna was born in Beardstown, Illinois on November 29, 1930, the daughter of John David and Mildred (Oetgen) Krieg. She worked as a secretary in the banking industry. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Decatur, where she sang in the choir. In her free time, she enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, and cooking. She married Robert Charles Powell in 1975.
Glenna is survived by her sons Terry (Linda) Boyd of Quincy, Illinois and Mark (Donna) Pond of Boonville, Missouri; daughter Lisa (Jerry) Gillespey of Decatur; sister Davalie Fisher of Jacksonville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons Charles Boyd and Jack Boyd; brothers Paul Krieg and Earnest Krieg; sister Margaret Rosenboom; grandchildren Michael Boyd, Evan Tucker, and Carly Pond; and son-in-law Bart Tucker.
A visitation for Glenna will be held at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home from 1pm to 2pm on Thursday, July 14. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2pm. Burial in Beardstown City Cemetery will take place after the funeral service. Memorials may be directed to Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Decatur.
