Gloria Jean Cottle's Obituary
Decatur-Gloria Jean Cottle, 89, of Decatur, passed away Friday, December 21, 2012 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Gloria's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, December 24, 2012 in Trinity Lutheran Church, 1960 E Johns Ave Decatur, with Pastor John Laux officiating. Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, December 23, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral home and for one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the LSA or the Parkinson's Foundation.
Gloria was born November 29, 1923 in Decatur, the daughter of Rollie and Louise (Blankenburg) Graham. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. She was a life member of Trinity Lutheran Church where she belonged to the Dorcas Society and Guild. She was a member of the P.E.O. Chapter B.C. where she held every office and the Macon County Home Extension. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, water skiing, oil painting, and gardening. In 1955 she was named Homemaker of the Year at the builder's group home show. She married Gene Cottle April 8, 1945 in Decatur.
She leaves behind her husband Gene, son Randall Cottle and wife Joy of Seymour, Missouri, grandchildren Graham Cottle, Selket Nicole Cottle, Heather Dillon and husband Matt, and Shane Cottle and wife Emily, and daughter in law Gail Cottle of Norris, Montana.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents and son Michael Cottle.
