Gloria L. Kramer's Obituary
Decatur-Gloria L. Kramer, 75, of Decatur, passed away Friday, December 16, 2016 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Gloria was born September 8, 1941 in Herrick, Illinois, the daughter of Paul & Lorain Gibson.
Gloria was a tough independent woman with a hard shell that covered her soft heart. She lived life on her own terms. She somehow became the neighborhood cat lady who cared for all the homeless cats. Mom loved to laugh and be outrageous. Everyone she met was in for an experience and she left a lasting impression on them all.
Gloria is survived by her children Melissa, Tammy, & Rocky. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and step-grandchildren, in-laws & out-laws. Sister Linda (Gary) Martin. Her forever friends Elson, George, & Sandy. And her beloved cat Tracker.
Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, and her daughter Sheila.
Mom has been reunited with Shelia who was her heart until the very end.
We are forever in debt to Dr. Moore, who was so kind. Dr. Kairouz who always made her light up. The entire staff at St. Mary’s cancer care, and every nurse and doctor that we encountered at St. Mary’s hospital. They shared in our tears as well as our laughter. During tough times these are the people you want in your corner.
Services to celebrate Gloria’s life will be 11 AM Tuesday, December 27, 2016 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10-11 AM prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Care of Decatur.
