I am apart of the McGhee and he is my great grandfather. I found him using Ancestry.com and he sounds like he was a great guy. Wish I got to know him.
Dear Charlotte & family:My name is Judy McGhee and I am Donald's wife. Don is the son of Glen. I believe I only met you once at Glen's funeral, however I did talk to Gordon on the phone a few years ago about the McGhee family genealogy. We are shocked and saddened to hear of Gordon's passing and would have come to pay our respects if we had known. I just now came across the notice while doing research on the family. Don really enjoyed talking to Gordon about their respective "technical" careers. Unfortunately, Don has had several small strokes, a quadruple bypass and now Parkinson's so we don't get out much. Glen and Virginia both had heart trouble and both died of strokes. I know Gordon also had heart problems. From what I've found it runs in the McGhee family.Charlotte, we send you and yours our prayers and ask blessings for you.Judy & Don
Not only was Dr. McGhee my doctor from childhood but he also took care of my parents, siblings and children until he retired. I have never had another physcian I felt as comfortable with or trusted as much. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.
Dr. McGhee and Charlotte were two of the first people we met when we moved to Decatur in 1962. He was the only doctor I ever heard of that still made house calls at that time. He helped our family through rough times whenever my dad was sick. Eventually he helped us get a wonderful surgeon who enabled my dad to have twenty more years of quality living. It was wonderful when Dr. McGhee retired and then worked for DMH Express Care. My mom was so happy when she would run into him for her needs. Thank you for sharing your parents McGhee family.
Condolences and best wishes to Dr. McGhee's family.
Very sorry to hear of Dr McGhee. He was "one special doctor." He delivered our 3 children. He always had a special place in his heart for our 1st. "Joy". He was a blessing in our lives when we were young and felt special to have a wonderful Christian Dr along with his adorable wife, Charlotte. Many memories, enjoy!John and Diana

Doc McGhee was our family doctor since I was very young. He brought my youngest daughter into this world. He used to ask my mom, Delores Schroeder, when she was gonna retire. She always said, "when you do". He closed his office, but my mom kept working until 2007 when her husband, Leslie Schroeder, died. She retired after that. Mom died March 25, 2012. Doc McGhee kept working part time after retiring. He was a great doctor. He actually cared about his patients. If one of us were sick, we got in to see him that day. When he retired, I thought, "what am I gonna do for a doctor?" No one else can fill his shoes! I still miss him as a doctor, and Charlotte taking my vitals when I visited their office. They were a great team!
