Gregory Alan Coon's Obituary
LOVINGTON- Gregory Alan Coon, 61, of Everton, MO, formerly of Lovington, passed away on May 28 while fishing at Stockton Lake, MO. His body was recovered on June 2, 2013.
A memorial service celebrating Greg's life will be conducted by Rev. Gary Griffin on June 14 at 2:30pm at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lockwood, MO. Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Larry Bricker at 11am on June 18 in Croninger Cemetery, Cisco. Greg will receive full military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Immanuel Lutheran Church and School, 212 W. 4th St, Lockwood, MO 65682. Local arrangements are being handled by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Greg was born on April 8, 1952 in Decatur to Paul Gene and Sarah Jean (Hostetler) Coon. He married Carie (Field) Elfstrom on November 29, 1986. Greg was an over the road truck driver who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are his loving wife Carie Coon of Everton, MO, daughters Cristy Strode and Jamie (Rick) Franklin of Lovington, son Brian Elfstrom of Columbia, MO, beloved granddaughters Alicia Nicole, Sydni Leann, and Chloe Elizabeth and grandson Colin Tyler, and brother Gary of Decatur.
Greg was preceded in death by his parents and grandson Austin Reid Franklin.
