Gwalia Kay Moore's Obituary
Decatur-Gwalia Kay Moore, 77, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Gwalia was born April 9, 1937 in West Frankfort, Illinois, the daughter of O.L. and Beulah (Roberts) Bearden. She was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of Harvest Christian Center and contributed to the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County and the SPCA. She loved her pets and spending time with her children, grandchildren, family, and friends. Gwalia married Bill Moore in July of 1996.
Gwalia leaves behind her husband Bill of Decatur, sons Matthew (Laura) Tyner and Michael (Jill) Tyner, step-sons Larry (Chris) Moore, Timmy (Susan) Moore, and Richard Moore, step-daughter Karen (Butch) Brown, step-son-in-law Denny Telfer, sister Sally (Richard) Kohl, grandchildren Lindsay (Ryan) Dempsey, Matthew Tyner, Clayton (Ashley) Tyner, and Courtney Tyner, step-grandchildren Nicole (Jay) Ruffner, Ashley Moore, Brittney Moore, Ryan Moore, Brandon (Annie) Moore, Tessa Moore, Jillian Mendenhall, Chad (Adrienne) Moore, Bradley Moore, Shane (Melissa) Telfer, and Dennis Telfer, great-granddaughter Lauren Dempsey, and step-great-grandchildren Ella Jaye and Emelia Moore, Elijah and Addisyn Mundell, Kelsey, Tyler, and Madisyn Moore, and Breanna Telfer.
Gwalia was reunited in Heaven with her parents, first husband Forest Tyner, daughter Gwalia Kaye Morrison, grandchildren Destiny, Jimmy, and Eden Morrison, step-daughter Penny Telfer, and step-grandson Josh Moore.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at DMH, St. Mary’s, and Heartland of Decatur and to all of the caregivers, friends, and family, for all of their compassionate care and support.
Memorial services to celebrate Gwalia’s life will be 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at the Harvest Christian Center, 2199 North Water Street, Decatur. Memorials are suggested to the Harvest Christian Center building fund or the Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County.
