Gwendolyn Marion Lipe's Obituary
Gwendolyn Marion Lipe, 88, of Decatur, formerly of Pana, died at 12:59 a.m. on Tuesday October 14, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
According to Gwen’s Wishes, she will be cremated. Memorial service will be 6 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at Graceland /Fairlawn Funeral Home. No visitation. Memorials may be directed to American Heart Association, American Lung Association, Breast Cancer or the charity of your choice.
Gwen was born January 16, 1926, in Tower Hill, to Oscar and Lilly (Beeson) Cunningham. She married Harold Thomas Lipe on April 11, 1944 in Taylorville. They later divorced; and preceded her in death. Gwen was a visiting nurse for many years and taught child evangelism to many children in her home in Pana and Decatur.
Surviving are her children, Phyllis (T.J.) Jackson of Forsyth, Patsy (Steve) Greiner of Waterloo, IL, Roger (Deb) Lipe of Decatur; grandchildren, Mark Crawford, Phillip(Michelle) Crawford; Julie (Chris) Schad, Heather Greiner; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Johnny and Gene Cunningham; two sisters, Gladys Musser and Mary “Minnie” Goodwin.
