Harley "Butch" Strohl's Obituary
Decatur ' Harley A. 'Butch' Strohl, 67, of Decatur passed away at 9:48 PM Tuesday August 28, 2012 in McKinley Court Nursing Home.
Butch was born August 26, 1945 in Decatur the son of Harley E. and Anna Mary Seiler. He worked as a police officer for Vandalia and retired from Mt. Zion School District as a Maintenance Supervisor. He served his county proudly in the U.S. Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He married Carol Crawley on March 14, 1973 in Decatur. She preceded him in death on July 1, 2010
Surviving are his sons, Chris Strohl of Jefferson, GA; Brian Strohl (Jeanne) of Bement; Eric Strohl (Robert Giganti) of Springfield; daughter, Crystal Sy (Justin) of Mt. Zion; sister, Dorothy Johnson of Decatur; and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and three sisters.
Funeral service celebrating Butch's life will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 31, 2012 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service. Burial will be Camp Butler National Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Inter-Veterans Detail of Sangamon County. Memorials are suggested to Cancer Care specialists of Central Illinois.
