Harold "Sonny" Crawley's Obituary
Harold “Sonny” Crawley, 84, of Decatur passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in Fair Havens Christian Home.
Harold was born July 31, 1930 in Decatur, IL, the son of Harold and Lena Ruth Marie (Chastain) Crawley. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. Harold attended Millikin University, earning a B.S., and later attended University of Illinois earning another degree. He worked for the State of Illinois, and later on worked for Adolf Meyer as a business manager, and later retired from. He enjoyed finding money, reading, hunting, shooting guns, living on the farm. He will always be remembered for his saying, “If it’s free, it’s for me!”
Harold leaves behind his brothers, Jack (Brenda) Crawley of Blue Mound, IL., Larry (Rose) Crawley of Dalton City, IL; sisters, Barbara Florey of Shumway, IL., Janet (Jim) Paslay of Sullivan, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his two brothers, and one sister.
Graveside services to celebrate Harold’s life will be 11a.m. Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Graceland Cemetery.
