Harold Lee Gash's Obituary
Decatur – Harold Lee Gash, 85, of Decatur, passed away at 3:05 pm Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Services to celebrate Harold’s life will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home with Pastor Larry Gruis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Military Rites with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
Harold was born May 28, 1924 in Clinton, Illinois, the son of Charles and Maggie (Lindeman) Gash. He proudly served his country in the Army during WWII. He retired from Laborer’s Local #159. He was a member of the VFW and Moose Club.
He leaves behind his Honey; Phyllis Eckart and family, three daughters: Francene (Steve) Ford of Auburn, Nancy (Bill) Leach of Tower Hill, and Susan (Lorin) Kramer of Rogers, Minnesota, two sons: Jerry (Judy) Gash of LaPlace, and Larry (Darlene) Gash of Warrensburg, one sister-in-law: Harriett Gash, fourteen grandchildren, including two special grandsons: Troy Kinney and Jason Leach, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was reunited in Heaven with his parents, one brother: Charles, four sisters: Freda, Doris, Thelma, Ceora.
