Harold Douglas Key, 73, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026, in Hammond, IL. Born on December 30, 1952, in Decatur, IL, the son of Harold Key and Louise Rose Babb.
Harold married his beloved wife, Cheryl Burgett-Key, on August 29, 2008, in Decatur, IL. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1972 before pursuing his lifelong career as a union laborer. He was a member of Laborers’ Local 159 for many, many years. Harold loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors.
Harold is survived by his wife — Cheryl Burgett-Key; sons — Michael Jackson and Christopher Hudson; brother — James Curtis Key; sister — Melinda Harrison; grandchildren — Austin Hudson, Christian Hudson, Ashley Bauer, and Houston Jackson.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents.
