Harold L. Peek's Obituary
Harold L. Peek, 94, of Decatur passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Harold was born on August 27, 1920 in Springfield, IL the son of William M. and Emma Mae (Watkins) Peek. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during WWII in the infantry and also served as a guard during the Nuremberg trial. He worked for Kerasotes Theaters for almost 70 years. He started as an usher working his way to a manager and then to supervisor of construction. He married Betty M. Davidson on December 14, 1939 in St. Charles, MO. She preceded him in death on May 23, 2006.
Surviving are his children, Charlotte G. Taylor (Robert) of Sugarland, TX; Gary L. Peek (Lynn) of Decatur, IL; Laura Jean Paterson of Decatur, IL; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, spouse, brother, William M. Peek Jr.; two sisters, Helen Venable and Grace Taylor, and one grandchild.
Private entombment with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery.
