Harriet Hiser's Obituary
Mt. Zion- Harriet L. Hiser of Mt. Zion, formerly of Hammond passed away at 10:19 pm Monday, December 4, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Harriet’s life will be held at 11 am Friday, December 8, 2017 in the chapel of Moran and Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 9 am until the service. Interment will be in the Cerro Gordo Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cerro Gordo Volunteer Fire Department.
Harriet was born on June 26, 1931 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Ralph and Fayma (Warnick) Catlin. She married George O. Hiser on November 22, 1951 in Boiling Springs Church of God, Decatur. He passed away on July 2, 2017. Harriet was a teacher for the Cerro Gordo preschool and a teacher at the preschool at Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Cerro Gordo Rebecca Lodge, Volunteer in the office for the Cerro Gordo Ambulance Service for over 20 years, former Girl Scout Troop Mother and Brownie Leader, member, pianist and treasurer of the former Oakley United Methodist Church, member of the Arthritics Band.
Surviving are her children- Lynn and his wife Diana of Oakley, Marcia and her husband Larry Gaitros of Oakley, Darryl and his wife Vickie of Argenta, Tami and her husband Tim Newell of Oakley and Daniel and his wife Soraya of Cerro Gordo, brother- Stanley Catlin and his wife Shirle, sister in law- Jolien Catlin, eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Harriet was greeted in Heaven by her parents, husband and two brothers- Donald Catlin and his wife Dorene and John Catlin
