Harriet L. Lacox's Obituary
Decatur-Harriet L. Lacox, 84, of Decatur, passed away at 6:10 am Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Graveside services to celebrate Harriet’s life will be at 1 pm Saturday, January 31, 2009 in Graceland Cemetery, with Pastor Mitch Flesch officiating, the “Flight Home” Ceremony will conclude the services.
Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.
Harriet was born May 6, 1924 in Decatur, the daughter of Thomas and Susie (Turpin) Bledsaw. She was a home child care provider for many years. She married Leslie Lacox on April 4, 1953.
She leaves behind her husband of fifty-six years Leslie of Decatur, sister; Dorothy Flesch of Decatur, nephews; Earl Wright and Phillip Wright and wife Cathy all of Decatur, great-nieces; Susie Struening and husband Nate of Argenta, Kayla Valy of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lora Wright and companion Rodney Blankenship of Decatur, Becky Loehr and husband Chuck of Decatur, great-nephew; Dylan Wright of Decatur, great-great niece Haley Blankenship, and great-great nephews; Zachary Loehr and Aiden Struening.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, one brother, and three sisters.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the nurses and staff at Fair Havens Christian Home and ICU South at Decatur Memorial Hospital for all of their loving and compassionate care.
