Harry Edward "Ed" Heckman's Obituary
Harry Edward “Ed” Heckman, Jr., 67, of Decatur, passed away Friday, March 29, 2019, in his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ed was born December 4, 1951, in Decatur, IL to Harry Edward and Doris Ellen (Wasson) Heckman. He married Denise Lorraine Finch on December 4, 1972, in Decatur. He worked at Canfield Lucas Lumber Company for 22 years. He recently worked at Parke Warehouse for 17 years before his passing. Ed loved fishing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He was a jack of all trades and a master of none.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Denise; three daughters, Christine Ramsey of Decatur, IL, twins, Tisha Morr and Tammy Heckman both of Decatur; four grandchildren, Tanis Morr, Kaylee Montague, Laura Morr and Trenton Heckman; and one great-grandson, Ahzar Vaughn.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandson, Brad Ramsey.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Velasco, Cancer Care Center and DMH Hospice for all their compassion and care.
Visitation services to celebrate the life of Ed Heckman will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Graceland/Fairlawn. Burial will follow in Boiling Springs Cemetery, in Decatur.
