Hazel Mary Leaser's Obituary
Hazel Mary Leaser, 102, of Decatur passed away on Monday, December 15, 2014 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Hazel was born on September 14, 1912 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of Frank and Estella (Duffy) Sendke. She was a member of the Elks and the Moose. She retired from the Wabash Hospital and worked as an election judge for many years. She married Arthur L Leaser on March 2, 1974. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Grandma was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed listening to the games on the radio.
Surviving are her grandchildren, Chris Brownlow (Michele) of Decatur; Shannon “Joe” Brownlow (Tami) of Decatur; Stacey Snyder (Josh) of Colorado; Dawn Huber (Brian) of Texas; Anthony Wrigley (Kristen) of Chicago; Gilbert Schmidt (De De) of Virginia; Tony Schmidt of Arkansas; Linda Sheppard (Craig) of Texas; Ralph Schmidt of California; son-in-law, Robert Wrigley; daughter-in-law, Jeannie Schmidt; 19 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; spouse; sons, Gilbert Schmidt (Jo Ann) and David Joe Schmidt; daughter, Gloria Ann Wrigley; grandchildren, Molly Mummy and Charles “Jim” Wrigley.
Service to celebrate Hazel’s life will be 11 AM Friday, December 19, 2014 in Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Friday in the funeral home. Entombment will be in Star of Mausoleum in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
