Helen Margaret Boose's Obituary
Helen Margaret Boose, 86, of Decatur, Illinois, passed away March 11, 2025, in her home.
Helen was born in Mt. Auburn, Illinois, on March 7, 1939, the daughter of Cecil and Ora Campbell. She was a long-time teacher in the Head Start program. In her free time, she enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, collecting Native American figurines, and taking care of her beloved birds. She believed in God and treated everyone with kindness. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and the way she encouraged peace and goodness in others, especially her family.
Helen is survived by her children Lois Jackiewicz, David (Paula) Jackiewicz, Theresa Jackiewicz, Larry (Jennifer) Jackiewicz, Helen Jackiewicz, and Rodney Jackiewicz, all of Decatur; siblings Carl, Robert, Polly, and Cecil; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; very special granddaughter Szonimie Daniels; and many extended family members. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Frank Jackiewicz, and several siblings.
Services for Helen will be held on Tuesday, March 18, at Graceland Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10am and will be followed by a funeral service at 11am. Burial in Graceland Cemetery will follow the service. Condolences may be shared with the family at www.gracelandfairlawn.com.
