Helen J. Gillespey's Obituary
Decatur – Helen J. Gillespey, 92, of Decatur, passed away at 11:29 am Sunday, February 8, 2009 at Fair Havens Christian Home.
Services celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 10 am Thursday, February 12, 2009 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment with the “Flight Home” Ceremony will be at Graceland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be sent to Fair Havens Christian Home or to Parkway Church of the Nazarene.
Helen was born on March 16, 1916 in Hydrow, Oklahoma, the daughter of William C. and Pauline H. (Konrad) Tooley. She married J. Fred Gillespey on July 11, 1939 in Decatur. He preceded her in death on February 16, 1975.
She leaves behind her one son: Jerry (Lisa) Gillespey of Decatur, two sisters: Lucille Bomball of Coosbay, Oregon and Annie Potter of Decatur, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, one son-in-law: Rod (Loretta) Borcherding of Decatur, and one daughter-in-law: Barbara Gillespey of Decatur.
She was reunited in heaven with her husband: Fred, parents, one son: Ronald D. Gillespey, two daughters: Minnie Havener and Jean Borcherding, two brothers: Freddie Tooley and Chester Tooley, two sisters: Margaret Tooley and Mabel Blackwell, three grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
