Helen M. McRoberts' Obituary
Helen Mae McRoberts, 83, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020, in her home.
Helen was born October 25, 1936, in Decatur, IL to Elvis and Alice (Stanley) Musgraves. She married Wendell L. McRoberts, Sr. on December 24, 1953 in Decatur. He passed away January 7, 2013. Helen loved working in her garden, landscaping, cooking, canning, but she was known for her famous “Peanut Brittle”.
She is survived by her three children, Terry (Tina) McRoberts, Wendell “Pete” (Teresa) McRoberts, Jr. and Susan (Jeffrey) Havener; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Clanton and Deloris Belton; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her son, Jeffrey L. McRoberts; and her sister, Margaret Lowe.
Honoring Helen’s wishes, cremation services will be provided by the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL. The family will be hosting a celebration of life for her at her home from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday, August 15, 2020.
