Decatur-Henry S. 'Hank' Penn, 83, of Decatur, passed away at 6:18 a.m. Monday, November 08, 2010 at Decatur Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.
Services to celebrate Hank's life will be 10 a.m. Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at the funeral home. Interment with 'Flight Home' Ceremony will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh Day Adventist Church. Hank was born December 19, 1926 in Decatur, the son of William Henry and Johnnie Belle (Shore) Penn. He proudly served his country in the U.S Army during W.W. II. He was previously employed as a Warehouse Manager at Field & Shorb retiring after forty-five years of service. He loved to laugh. He was an avid bowler, St. Louis Cardinal fan, pinochle player, and football fan. He married Wilma Arlene Lee August 3, 1947.
He leaves behind Wilma, his beloved wife of over sixty-three years, daughters; Teresa Sue Rappe and husband Kevin of Decatur and Sandra K. Johnson and husband Thomas of Orange Park, FL, grandchildren; Chad Rappe and wife Sheila of Macon, Kimberly Patient of Blue Mound, Scott Johnson and wife Jennifer of Jacksonville, FL, and Eric Johnson of Orange Park, FL, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters, and granddaughter Jamie Rappe`.
