Hettie P. Rubottom's Obituary
Decatur-Hettie P. Rubottom, 89, of Decatur, went to be with her Lord and savior on Monday, November 2, 2015 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Hettie was born August 18, 1926, in Rector, Arkansas, the daughter of Henry and Mary (DeFoe) Gills. She was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Hettie was a member of LIFE Foursquare Church and Maranatha Assembly of God where she was an avid prayer warrior. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and most of all bragging on her grandchildren. Hettie married Bill M. Rubottom on April 29, 1948 in Portageville, Missouri. He preceded her in death April 22, 2009.
Hettie leaves behind her children Bethany King and husband Ross Byington of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Bill Rubottom of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Glen Rubottom and wife Kathy of Helena, Montana, and Mary Pressley and husband Tom of Decatur, brother John Gills and wife Bonnie, sister JoAnn Latham, grandchildren James, Michael, Daniel, Serena, Nicole, Ben, Shelby, Abby, Libby, and Clay, and eight great-grandchildren.
Hettie was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers, daughter-in-law Hebby, son-in-law Dennis, and grandson Adam.
Services to celebrate Hettie’s life will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2015 at Maranatha Assembly of God, 555 W Imboden Dr, Decatur. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, November 5, 2015 at the Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home. Private burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Grace House, 851 E. Cantrell Street Decatur, IL, 62521.
